Organize study notes

Turn course material into structured notes and self-test questions, and check them against the original.

Tool types that fit: General assistant, Research

Step by step

  1. 1Remove sensitive content from the material.
  2. 2State your learning goal and your current level.
  3. 3Give the material in parts rather than all at once.
  4. 4Ask for structured notes: key concepts, explanations and examples.
  5. 5Check the notes against the original material.
  6. 6Answer the check questions yourself before looking anything up.

Template to copy

I am learning [topic]. My current level is [short description].
First break the topic into 3-5 key concepts, then explain each with an everyday example.
Then give me 3 questions to check my understanding, without the answers.
If my information is not enough, ask me the single most important question first.
Separate checkable facts, your inferences, and anything you are unsure about.

Asking AI to flag uncertainty does not make its answer correct. Keep checking the parts that matter.

Check the result

  • Every key point matches the original material.
  • Nothing important from the material is missing.
  • Examples are correct, not just plausible.
  • You answered the check questions yourself.
  • Anything marked uncertain has been looked up.
